Thom K. LeDoux:

After twenty years as a prosecutor, Thom K. LeDoux joined the legal firm of Lama & Luchetta, LLP.

A native of Cañon City and an alumnus of Cañon City High School, Thom went on to graduate from the University of Colorado with a degree in Philosophy in 1996, and the CU School of Law in 2002.
Thom started his legal career as a Deputy District Attorney in the 10th Judicial District in Pueblo in 2003 and worked his way through County Court trying dozens of DUI, domestic violence, protection order, theft, and child abuse cases. He was later promoted to District Court and made his way to the Crimes Against People Unit, where he handled felony assault and homicide cases.

In 2006, Thom returned to his hometown as a Deputy DA in the 11th Judicial District. Two years later, at 34, Thom was elected as the District Attorney for the 11th Judicial District making him one of the youngest Elected District Attorneys in the history of Colorado. He was re-elected as the DA in 2012 and served both terms allowed by term limits in the 11th JD.  

As the Elected District Attorney, Thom was honored by his peers when they elected him President of the Colorado District Attorneys’ Council in 2012.

Thom went on to serve as the Assistant District Attorney in the 11th JD and then as a Senior Deputy District Attorney in the 4th Judicial District where he was the supervisor of the Special Victims Unit for 2 years.

Thom has experience handling every type and level of criminal case. He has completed more than 60 jury trials in more than a dozen courtrooms across more than a half dozen counties in southern Colorado. Thom has litigated and negotiated countless criminal cases of every type over the last 20 years, including homicides, sex assaults, domestic violence cases, thefts, DUI, drugs, and animal abuse.

Thom has appeared on Dateline, True Crime Files by ID, and the pages of the NY Times. He was known as a prosecutor both for his abilities as a trial lawyer as well as the cases he correctly did not file, e.g. the Cañon City High School sexting scandal.
